Problems? We're there when you need us
We offer support to anyone who has a problem
financial,
personal
or work-related
and who has worked in the book trade for more than one year as an employee or freelance
BTBS, the book trade charity, can trace its roots back to 1837. The help the charity offers today is vastly different from that needed in Victorian times, but its fundamental role is still the same: 'The book trade, looking after its own'
We all face problems in life; knowing who to contact for information, sympathy and advice in difficult times can be confusing. When friends, colleagues or employers can't help, or you don't feel you can ask them for support, ask BTBS. We can offer confidential, sympathetic and practical help.
In appropriate circumstances, BTBS can also offer financial help. This can be made available on a regular basis, or a one-off payment to help, for example, with domestic difficulties, or to enable redundant or unemployed people to undertake re-training courses. We can also provide computers on long term loan to enable freelances to establish themselves in the book trade.
