We hope that many people will want to make a personal statement of their support, whether in the form of an annual ‘subscription’ donation either for individuals (minimum £25) or corporate (ranging from £250 to £6000) or in terms of skills, time or resources; all such support will be extremely beneficial to the charity's aims.
You can now make a donation online at JustGiving.
The most effective way to help is with a donation under the Gift Aid scheme. Since April 2000 all personal donations to the charity can be tax-effective by completing a short form you allow the charity to reclaim from Inland Revenue an additional sum equivalent to 28% of your donation, from the tax you have already paid - i.e. at no extra cost to you. BTBS will send you the form which can be completed after you have made your donation. The form may also be printed by clicking: Gift Aid Form
The other tax effective way to support your trade charity is through payroll giving (Give As You Earn). Contact your employer or BTBS for further information.
A legacy to a charity such as BTBS is completely free from inheritance tax, so such a bequest is taken away from the value of the estate before tax liability is calculated. We greatly welcome all legacies, but a residual legacy has special benefits for us; this is the remains of your estate after all other legacies, expenses, debts and tax have been paid. Its value therefore goes up with the increase in value of your estate, offsetting any effects of inflation. If you would like to show your support, please contact BTBS for further information.
